Staatsballett Berlin takes a well deserved summer break!

By Ronnie Rocket

My beloved Staatsballett Berlin has now gone on holiday (incidentally, as a dedicated fan, I follow their calendar and leave the city when they do and return again when they do!) after another long and phenomenal season.

Almost 100 performances (97 to be exact) and almost 120,000 tickets (118,046 to be exact) sold, which gives an impressive overall coverage level of 86,1%.

Many highlights in the final season of Maestro Malakhov and many tears, too, with principal dancer Shoko Nakamura leaving the company for Budapest.

The company returns in August under the new leadership of Nacho Duato.

Here is the official message:

The Staatsballett Berlin takes its seasonal break from 07 July through 21 August 2014. We will be back on 21 August 2014. The 2014 / 2015 seaon under the new directorship of Nacho Duato starts on 12 September 2014. Please check our website for the full program and all dates.

We are looking forward to spend an exciting new season 2014 / 2015 with you!

Please Note that the box offices of the opera houses will be closed during the following times:
Deutsche Oper Berlin: 28.06. – 03.08.2014 | Komische Oper Berlin: 14.07. – 24.08.2014 | Staatsoper im Schiller Theater: 07.07. – 24.08.2014 | The TICKET BOX at Bebelplatz is still open: daily from 12 to 7pm.
